SacWest RV Park and Campground should have the adjective "resort" at the end of their name. They offer an abundance of amenities, and whether you are passing through or planting your arse for a while, your family can enjoy them all.
Located at 3951 Lake Road in West Sacramento, CA. SacWest sits on the southern end of the city. Be sure to make your reservation well in advance because this little utopia, just one exit from the Vic Fazio Wildlife Area, seems to sell out fast. In fact, That RV Life was placed on a 2-month waiting list for a long-term spot.
In addition to keeping the park clean and orderly, or as Joey puts it "symmetrical," SacWest offers a saltwater swimming pool, dog park, playground, petting zoo, paddle boats, Friday night S'mores parties, and other special events on many of the weekends.
The staff will greet you with a cheerful "HELLO!" at check-in and don't forget to take a look around the general store for some items you may have forgotten. From drinks, ice, and snacks; to firewood, t-shirts, RV supplies, and toys for the pool, SacWest General Store has you covered. Feeling a little tired from too many drinks by your fire pit the night before? Ring up the 24K Grill, serving breakfast and lunch from 8a to 1p daily.
With all of the amenities available, That RV Life's favorite activity is evening walkabouts. The views are tremendous and feel free to rent one of the adult-sized tricycles to cruise the park if don't feel like walking. While on your short trek around the park, you'll get to see the petting zoo, lakefront cabins, the dog park, and cookout areas among other things.
When you're ready to head indoors, don't forget to stop by the SacWest clubhouse! There you will find video games, pinball, books, a piano and a large meeting area. Feel like cooking in a full-sized kitchen? It's in the clubhouse too! You can do laundry, take a shower, or even hit the pooper to avoid stinking up the camper! Although, if you've brought your children or your in-laws, That RV Life highly recommends stinking up the camper. Helps to make those special memories even more special.
SacWest has it all and whether you are passing through or planning an extended stay, be sure to visit them when traveling anywhere near Sacramento CA. You won't regret it! (Unless the in-laws later hate you for not utilizing the bathhouse pooper.)
That RV Life could go on and on! However, here's a link to the SacWest website instead. Be sure to tell them Linz and Joey sent you and that you heard about them on That RV Life Podcast/Blog.
Enjoy your travels and remember, be safe! But not too safe! Live a little!
